Starting with today’s strip, I’m doing two things: First, I’m starting a special storyline to re-introduce the strip, show who the characters are and their relationships to each other, clarify a few things. This should be a good jumping-on point for new readers.
Second, I’m working on ears. One of the things that has always bugged me about my characters, when I’ve produced a color strip, is the ears. Monkeys have ears that aren’t covered in fur, but my monkeys’ ears are, and it makes them look like they’re wearing jumpsuits of some sort, like the sperm in Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex, But Were Afraid to Ask. So starting today I’m liberating the ears. Haven’t gotten it quite right yet, but it’s getting there.
