Ball pit

Sorry for the lateness of today’s strip, but I had a few technical difficulties. First, I discovered that Rapidograph pens + plastic stencils = disaster. The ink seeps under the stencil and smears… hence, the balls needed a great deal of touch-up work.

Also, today was the first time I’ve tried to draw the new Army ACU, which I tried really hard to get right. Still haven’t got it.

You can use stencils or plastic guides with rapidograph pens and not have any ink seepage. Get some white masking tape and a hole punch. Punch some holes in the tape (much like you would if you puinched holes in paper to make confetti) and tape the circles you made in the empty spaces on the stencils. This will raise your stencil enough off the paper to still allow you to use it and keep the ink from seeping. Just be careful that you don’t press down on the stencil while inking.

I’ve used this system for years and it really works.

    Good lock.
