Late strip Wednesday

Wednesday’s strip will be delayed until Thursday. I got caught up trying to track down what seems like a bug in a user’s installation of stripShow and time got away from me. There will still be a strip on Friday.

Hey everyone… sorry there’s no Monkey Law today. I’ve been working overtime trying to get the new version of stripShow out the door, and it came to my attention yesterday that it’s not at all compatible with the new version of WordPress. So I’ve put all my attention towards fixing that. There will be a new strip Monday, I promise.

Letting you guys know ahead of time, Wednesday there won’t be a strip — I’m doing training at work, and my schedule has shifted to 8:30AM for the next couple of days. So I don’t have time tonight to write and draw it… Friday, though, there will be a strip.

The democratization of Monkey Law

As many of you may have noticed, this strip has been in a bit of a slump lately. While not strictly speaking on hiatus, updates have been sparse to say the least.

At present, I can’t even decide which characters to feature in the next storyline.

So that’s where you come in. Over on the Monkey Law forum I’ve put up a poll asking who should star in the next story. I will feature whoever gets the most votes.

Lack of updates

Sorry about not having a strip for the last few days. I’ve been working on fixing some software problems on the SpinZone Comics site, and writing documentation for the final release of stripShow. Also there were a few things that have nothing to do with the internet. I promise to be a better monkey.

Oh! I know! The emotional trauma I felt when watching TV and seeing Elvis Costello appearing in a Lexus ad. Also the vomiting that ensued.

Man, I have been trying to come up with a strip, but nothing’s coming. You’ve had a few days of miscellany, now I’d like to get back into the swing of things with a new storyline… but so far, it’s been a blank. I’ll keep you posted.

Sorry about the lack of updates this week — all my creative energy has been going to a most unusual place — my job. I know, it surprised me as well. I’ve been doing graphics and such for a presentation at work, and it’s been occupying most of my days, to the point where when I get home I just want to flop in front of the TV and forget about it.

Now, this being TV Turnoff Week, instead I’ve simply been going to sleep.

I did try to formulate an idea for a strip, but the best I could come up with was something about how Rush Limbaugh has made a point of declaring that the Virginia Tech gunman was probably a liberal, but really, what can you say about something like that? It would have been a cheap shot, and not worthy of anyone, even me.

At any rate, Monkey Law will be back on Friday, with better material than that described above.

Well, I guess not a lot of my readers use Internet Explorer 6, because I just looked at the site in that browser, and WOW, I had no idea. The sidebar is moved down below all the blog stuff. No one thought this was odd?

I’ll be working on fixing this throughout the day.

Wow. I got caught up in adding a storyline feature to stripShow, and lost all track of time. I guess there won’t be a strip for Wednesday. Sorry.

This feature is coming along nicely, however, and I fully expect to once again have storyline functions working on this site again by the weekend. And stripShow users will benefit as well. This means nothing to those of you who don’t do webcomics, of course, but take my word for it, it will be bad-ass.
